Retailers Need Strong Supply Chains
22/03/2012
Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics have reported that UK retail sales volumes fell by 0.8% in February compared with the previous month. Highlighting that although things have been improving for retail with sales volumes over the past three months being 1.7% higher than the same period a year earlier retail is still have a tough time.
The internet is now being recognised as an area of potential growth with 10.7% of all sales now being made online and this has prompted many retailers to look towards innovation and new technologies in an attempt to improve online sales.
While there is no doubt many benefits to investing in online retailing including mobile sites, apps and the like investment in these areas should never be made at the expenses of a strong robust supply chain.
